TAUGHT BY KELLY CURRAN & CHRIS TER KUILE

The Amazing Collection: The Bible, Book by Book is a video driven Bible study for women, taught sequentially book by book. Each week focuses on one book in the Bible. The main characters and theme of each book come alive with dynamic teaching, original music videos and personal testimonies. This year we will be studying Romans thru Revelation. Each week presents a “quick read” option which hits the highlights of the book and a “complete read” option, making this study flexible for the time constrained, the beginner or the seasoned Bible student. It's really a great study for anyone, even someone who's just curious about who God is.

This study is written by women for women. The video teaching is done by a team of 4 women who will introduce significant characters, events and themes giving you the “big picture” of God’s story. Helpful charts, maps and graphs enhance the learning experience. For more information please go to The Amazing Collection website.

Every Tuesday morning in the Fireside Room (on break Nov 20-Jan 7). $32 in September (& final class $18 in February). Email Sharon Allen or call her at 425-882-1477 for more information.

I’m thrilled to get the chance to teach TAC next year with Kelly. It will certainly be a challenge for me, but it’s one I’m up for! Reading a book a week is no small feat, but over this last year, I truly loved getting a bird’s eye view of the Bible and seeing it all weave so beautifully together. It’s an intricate and stunning tapestry that is masterfully designed. And getting an opportunity to dive into each book with these women is a remarkable treat. It’s like taking a bunch of friends to Baskin Robbins Ice Cream and sampling each of the flavors! They’re all so different and I like some better than others, but each one has something sweet to savor and I don’t want to miss it. ~ Chris
I’m thrilled to be leading our third and final year of The Amazing Collection. For years I knew and understood little snippets of God’s love story for us, but just couldn’t figure out how to connect the dots. This study is unique in nature because if offers both a high altitude view of God’s story, specifically, each book of the Bible; but it also provides insight into the details that will deepen our understanding of God and His salvation plan. Understanding the Bible as one complete story and how each book contributes to that story has fortified the scaffolding of my faith; it has revealed a faithful God who has relentlessly wooed humanity throughout history. He never gives up on us. This year we’ll be working on Romans through Revelation, so it’s a great time to step in! I can’t wait to see you there! ~ Kelly

How Christ Changes Us by His Grace

by Paul Tripp & Timothy Lane

TAUGHT BY Amber David & Tavia Wilson

A changed heart is the bright promise of the gospel. When the Bible talks about the gift of a new heart, it doesn't mean a heart that is immediately perfected, but a heart that is capable of being changed and change happens over time as we walk closely with Jesus. Jesus' work on the cross targets our hearts---our core desires and motivations---and when our hearts change, our behavior changes. This very practical study will help you understand better how what Jesus accomplished for us on the cross makes a difference in our day to day lives and help you better understand the amazing gift God has given to us in our great salvation.

Every Tuesday morning in Room 420 (on break Nov 20-Jan 7). $23. Email Sharon Allen or call her at 425-882-1477 for more information.

I’ve heard it said that the only constant thing in life is change. (Ironic, huh?) And because of all the change we face -- some we can’t control and some we try our hardest to make in our personal lives or the life of our family -- I’m excited about the study How People Change by Timothy S. Lane and Paul David Tripp. Early in the study book, it says, “Although we would often settle for circumstantial or behavioral change, God loves us too much to settle for that. He is intent on changing us, and because all of our actions, reactions, and responses are guided by our hearts, that is where His work of change is focused.” Yes, I want that!! I don’t want to settle for the change I seek with a New Year’s resolution (often broken) or a fad diet (often discarded). I want change that reaches into the deepest part of my heart and soul to change me from the inside out. ~ Tavia

So, let’s just address the elephant in the room. I’ve never done a women’s Bible study where the author of the study was two men. Maybe I like to hear from women on Tuesdays at WOMENS Bible study. If this is your first reaction, I don’t blame you, however, this study is a well worth while departure from our comfort zones. Join us this September to walk with your sisters through this twelve-week study that is designed to help us understand why change is so hard, and how we can overcome our stickiest sins. If you truly invest in the study, not only will you be better equipped to become the women of God you want to be, you will be better equipped to help others see where they are stuck and get moving toward their goals as well. While the videos are shorter, and the homework is lighter than some studies we have done, you will get out of this study what you put into it so plan to invest the time it takes to really “get it.” I can’t wait to see who God brings to take this journey with Tavia and me. See you in September! ~ Amber

by Kelly Minter

TAUGHT by Lena Putnam

All Things New is a study written by Kelly Minter based on Paul’s letter of 2 Corinthians which is often described as Paul’s most personal letter. Paul writes about God’s unrivaled comfort and passion to the church in Corinth with obvious heartbreak over their failures and great concern for their restoration, that all things be made new.

In this eight week study we will learn from the video teaching of Kelly Minter as well as from our own individual study. In the study guide Kelly will lead us verse by verse thru 2 Corinthians with some thought provoking questions to help us understand and apply what we learn. Each lesson includes five days of study which we’ll have two weeks to complete. In her introduction Kelly invites us to do this study “whether seasoned believer or new explorer on a journey of this ancient letter.”

Every other Tuesday evening in the Room 130. $18. Email Diana Minor or call her at (206) 229-9801 for more information.

I’m excited to do another Kelly Minter study after doing her study of 1, 2 & 3 John- “What Love Is”.  In her studies you can’t help but catch her passion for teaching God’s Word as her teaching is timely, encouraging and convicting.  I look forward to learning alongside those who join this study and trust that God will continue to work to make all things new in us. ~ Lena

Precept Upon Precept: Romans Part 4

by Precept Ministries / Kay Arthur

taught by Barb Snyder

Romans, Part 4: Life as a Living Sacrifice

This year we will study the second half of Romans. We’ve studied chapters 1-8. We’ve learned about sin, salvation and then sanctification…that God has given us the Holy Spirit, when by faith we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, He will cause us to live a life set apart for Him. And, He loves us so much nothing will separate us from His love.

His promise is, “The righteous man shall live by faith.” Faith to believe that Jesus Christ is who He says He is, and faith to live the way He wants us to live…with the power of the Holy Spirit to help us to walk the narrow way.

This year we will study Chapters 9-11 to find out that God is in complete of control of our past, present and future.

Every Tuesday morning in the Student Center. $24. Email Amy Quamme or call her at 425-392-1959 for more information.

We can hardly wait to see you all again and welcome the new ones. We will love you and make you feel comfortable. And we’ll be reviewing what we’ve done previously, so you new ones don’t have to worry. We’ll catch you up.

Titus

by Shelly Smith

taught by Kelly Curran

An inductive study through the book of Titus. Paul's letter to Titus provides God's snapshot of the local church body, including God's choice of leaders for an individual church and instructions for their character and daily lives. As we study this short letter we will learn how we are called to live for Christ and reveal the grace of God to a culture that exalts self over all else. This letter will challenge us to examine our own selfish tendencies and priorities, and live as testimonies of God's grace in the world.

Every other Tuesday evening in the Fireside Room. $8. Email Diana Minor or call her at (206) 229-9801 for more information.

I'll be honest. For years Titus was a little book I just, well, overlooked...until I understood the purpose of these powerful three chapters. It's a letter from the heart of one pastor, the apostle Paul, to a fellow pastor, Titus. And so much more. Paul was teaching Titus how to order and build God's church--appointing leaders of godly character and lifestyle--so that the gospel would be authentically and graciously displayed to the lost world. As readers removed almost 2000 years, we can learn why character and lifestyle are important for God's church: both point to the grace and truth of our glorious Lord. I can't wait to dig in to the details of Titus, and discover the life and character that God calls His people to! It's going to be an exciting 5 weeks together! ~Kelly

A Sacred Journey in Exodus to God’s Amazing Love

by Catherine Martin

TAUGHT BY Anna Clagett, Melanie Adent & Lynn Possing

It is one thing to talk about the greatness of God’s love, but quite another to experience His love firsthand in your own life. When we begin to grasp how passionately God loves us, our passion for Him grows as well.  Journey with the new nation of Israel as God rescues them from slavery in Egypt and takes care of them through the desert years. Learn from the story of Exodus why all our comfort in deliverance is not our knowing God, but our being known by Him.

Every Tuesday morning in Room 130. $25. Email Sharon Allen or call her at 425-882-1477 for more information.

I am excited to be following the Israelites from Egypt to the Promised Land with you this year. There is so much to learn about the mercy and holiness of God and about the deep love he has for his people in this Old Testament narrative. I am so thankful for the reminder in Exodus that God is faithful even when his people are not. ~ Anna

I’ve always loved the Old Testament! If a picture paints a thousand words………then a story brings a character to life. Moses, Pharaoh and the Israelites are very interesting characters, but the real star of the show is Yahweh himself. In Exodus, He made himself known to them – and to us. Exodus is packed with history and drama, heroes and villains, heartbreak and dramatic rescues. But perhaps best of all, it is a clear picture of the heart of God. ~ Lynn

Life is a journey and within it are smaller journeys, some short and easy, some long and difficult. Exodus details the journey God calls the Israelites to make as He rescues them out of the land of Egypt and out of slavery. As with some of our own journeys, there would be initial excitement, followed by difficulty, doubt and discovery. The Israelites would have to decide: Is God trustworthy?

Join Anna, Lynn and me as we follow the Israelites’ journey to learn about God’s character and ways, strengthening our own trust in God as He guides us, leads us and provides for us through our individual journeys.

I look forward to the time of growth we will experience together as we study God’s word. See you all soon! ~ Melanie
