I am a true Pacific Northwester at heart and after spending a few years in sunny Florida and California, I couldn’t help but return to the beloved rain and grey. I managed to snag a gem of a man, Steve, and have three beautifully strong-minded children: Zach (18), Natalie (14), and Matthew (10). Needless to say these angels take after their mother more often than not, so our household never lacks in chaos and laughter. I wouldn’t have it any other way. In my 5 minutes of free time, I enjoy dinners out with my peeps, kids’ sports games, music, and watching Seinfeld with Steve after the kids go down.

After years of chasing empty pursuits, at 23 I witnessed God’s astounding mercy through His relentless pursuit of this former prodigal child. That mercy compelled me to give over control of my life to Him, and life has never been the same. Having tasted the goodness of God I can say with certainty: He is worth it. Gripped by the love of God, I have a burning desire for those who’ve walked a similarly broken road to experience a life truly lived in fullness of freedom, joy, and satisfaction that come only through surrender to Jesus Christ.

I have been married to Mark for 30 years and, as of about a year and a half ago, we are empty nesters. We have three adult daughters scattered around the country and even the world. Mark and I have been enjoying discovering “new fun things” for the two of us to do together now that the girls have left our home. We have discovered ballroom dancing, cooking together and we continue to enjoy paddling our SUPs on the lakes in our beautiful state of Washington.

I count it an incredible privilege to have been able to serve the women here at CBC for the last 14 years. It brings me much joy to be able to help women to grow in their own individual relationships with God through studying His word and through the encouragement of being in relationship with fellow sisters in Christ with whom we can share this life journey. I desire to help women grown in their knowledge of God, their love for Him and their desire to serve Him so that they can experience the true source of joy, peace and hope that we can always have in this ever changing world.

Work brought me to the Pacific Northwest, but part of my heart will always be in the Midwest. It was there I learned how to make casseroles, dress for all seasons (even rainy ones) and to love block parties.

Six weeks after I drove to West Seattle from Washington D.C., I met the man of my dreams on the corner of Mercer and 19th Ave. Just a year and a half after that knee buckling encounter, Derek and I were two-stepping at our wedding in Dripping Springs, Texas. We kept our finger on the fast forward button and 7 months later our beautiful adopted son, Elijah Christopher, was born. Together we enjoy hiking, skiing, snow showing and traveling. Our sane place is outdoors, especially with our three silly dogs Oda, Bella and Gracie.

At the time, we thought we stumbled on Crossroads Bible Church by accident, but in hind sight, it was all part of God’s greater plan. Derek and I feel at home here having met and connected with incredibly faithful and inspiring fellow Christians. It’s a blessing and great responsibility to be a part of an incredible ministry that touches and inspires the hearts of so many.

Quilter & WEAVER | Board Gamer | Seahawk Fan

I was raised on the east side of Washington State in Spokane. I married the sweetest man alive about 26 years ago. We don't have kids, but always a cat, and a greyhound at one point. We enjoy living in Seattle (most of the time :-), walking on Alki, and playing board games (almost every night!). When solo, I love quilting & weaving - I almost can't get enough!

I enjoy serving at Crossroads in my role - I get to meet so many of you!
